In Loving Memory of Esther Marie Evans

April 27, 1941 – January 26, 2026

Esther M. Evans of Highland City was a woman of unwavering faith and unconditional love. She was born on April 27, 1941, in Kalkaska, Michigan, to Victor E. and Clara B. Calkins, who preceded her in death. Esther peacefully entered eternal rest on January 26, 2026, at the age of 84.

Esther was a charter member of Trinity Christian Center, where she faithfully attended and served for more than 50 years. Her quiet dedication, faithfulness, and commitment to her church family were a blessing to all who worshiped alongside her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband,Donald W. Evans; her parents; and her brothers, Virgil and David Calkins.

Esther is survived by her loving children: Michael and Linda Carew, Jason and Bonnie Brown, and Ray and Wanda Bonis; her grandchildren: Travis and Hillary Carew, Chris and Bailey Eade, Charley and Sara Hicks, Ryley and Makayla Hicks, Dirk and Holly Rainbow, Hannah Brown, and Christian Bonis; eight precious great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Judy Calkins; her brothers-in-law, Milburn Evans and his wife, Brenda, and William McCulley; and her many beloved nieces and nephews.

Esther loved without condition and gave of herself freely. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and steady presence created a legacy of faith and love that will continue to live on through her family, her church, and all whose lives she touched.

Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort and peace in the promise of eternal life, knowing Esther has been welcomed home into the loving presence of her Savior.
