Esther Janik passed peacefully away on Sunday morning, November 30th, 2025 at the Marley House Hospice in Prescott. By her bedside at the time of her passing were her family.

Esther was born in the small village of Austerfield, England in 1931. Her young life was heavily impacted by the influence of WWII. After the war, she met her husband, Josef, who was from Poland. Josef was inducted into service by the British Army when they liberated him from a Nazi work camp, later offering him British citizenship for his service. Josef and Esther saved their money and Immigrated to the United States in the 1950's, settling first in Mesa, AZ.

After Josef passed away, Esther moved up to Prescott to be closer to her only child, Peter ("PJ") and his family. She lived near the Taylor Hicks neighborhood and was a familiar figure walking one of her dogs and waiving to families taking their kids to school. She later moved to Prescott Village (formerly Samaritan) and soon found friendship with her neighbors and going on the Tuesday grocery trips with "the girls."

Esther is survived by PJ, her son, and his wife Debbie Janik. Her two Grandsons, Drew and Patrick (Ashley) Janik. She also has a sister in England, Mary Branagan as well as a niece and nephew there. Per Esther's wishes, there will be no services. Her English charm and wit, will be our lasting memory of Esther. In lieu of any flowers, Esther wishes that donations be made to either the Marley House (1063 Scott Dr.) or Prescott Meals On Wheels (1280A E. Rosser) both in Prescott. 86301. Both provided excellent services to our family. The Janik family would like to express gratefulness to all of Esther's friends who visited her while in the hospital and at the Marley House.
