Esther Grace Mosley

Esther Mosley joined her husband Robert in Heaven on Thursday, October 16th, 2025.

She was born in eastern Kentucky, the 8th of 9 children, and her large, close family was the center of her life. Esther had a thirst for reading and learning from a young age. The family moved to Warsaw, Indiana prior to her senior year, where Esther graduated as valedictorian of her high school class. Esther met and married Robert at the age of 19. The newlyweds had planned to move to his home in Fairbanks, AK, but stopped in Milwaukee for a job interview where they stayed and built a life and family. Esther spent the majority of her career as a Customer Service Manager for Kohl's Department Stores.

Esther relished her life as a wife, mother, and grandmother. She and Robert instilled a love of learning, travel, and nature in their children. She arranged her work schedule to be able to care for her three youngest grandchildren as often as possible, sharing her love of cooking, baking, and gardening with them.

Throughout her life, Esther was admired for her kindness, calm, quiet strength, wisdom, and acceptance of all those she met.

Those who continue to celebrate her life include her children, Sandra (Ross) and Steven (Angela), her grandchildren Ryan (Zoe) Mosley, Brianna (Greg Schrenkel) Mosley, Brendan Mosley, Rachel Workman (Nicholas Katers), and Heather (Daniel) Goesch, and her great-grandson Frederick Goesch.

A celebration of Esther's life will be held at WISCONSIN MEMORIAL PARK, Chapel of Flowers, 13235 W. Capitol Dr., Brookfield, on Monday, October 27th, 2025. Visitation from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a service to follow at 11:00. Private interment immediately following the service.

In the last weeks of her life, Esther requested to have Little House on the Prairie, a book that she had first read as a young girl in Appalachia, read to her. Just hours before she passed away, she heard the last lines of the book and was peaceful.

"She felt her eyelids closing. She began to drift over endless waves of prairie grasses, and Pa's voice went with her, singing."

"Row away, row o'er the waters so blue,

Like a feather, we sail in our gum-tree canoe.

Row the boat lightly, love, over the sea;
