Carolyn Settimi Obituary

Carolyn Mae Settimi, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on October 19, 2025, at the age of 100.

Born May 14, 1925, in Richland Center, Wisconsin, Carolyn was the youngest of 13 siblings. After completing her nurse training as an RN at Milwaukee County Hospital, fate introduced her to a young physician in residency, Albino Luciano Settimi. The two married soon after, beginning a partnership that lasted nearly seven decades until Albino's passing on December 18, 2008.

Together, Carolyn and Albino raised six children and built deep roots in the communities of Elm Grove and Brookfield. Carolyn balanced devotion to her family with her interests in community service, volunteering in the arts, and as an occasional nurse for local schools. She was active in the Western Racquet Club, as an avid tennis player, and member of a local women's golfing league. Carolyn was taught to play bridge by the same woman who introduced her to Albino, and became a member of the local Bridge club. Carolyn loved gardening, cooking, baking, and entertaining friends and family. "Carolyn was so generous and outgoing with friends and family," comments one friend.

A lifelong patron of the arts, Carolyn volunteered with the Florentine Opera Company and served as a docent for an area museum, sharing her appreciation for culture and the arts with others. For decades, she sang joyfully as a tenor in the choir at St. John Vianney Church, where her voice became a familiar and cherished part of parish life.

Her pastimes reflected her generosity, warmth and intellect. Through her generosity, Carolyn provided an endowment to a small performance arts theater in rural West Virginia. She continued to support her Bridge Club gatherings at the Western Racquet Club, a place to meet, even though she herself was unable to play. She provided shelter and love for others throughout her life.

Her life was one of kindness, generosity, and quiet strength-a life defined by service to others, steadfast love for her family, and a deep appreciation for the arts, especially music.. All will carry her memory forward with affection and gratitude.

A celebration of Carolyn's life will be held at St. John Vianney Parish, 1755 N. Calhoun Road Brookfield, from 9:30 AM until the time of Carolyn's Mass of Christian Burial at 11 AM. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Family Home in Brookfield immediately following the Mass. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to the Skylight Music Theater in her name, or a similar charity of your choice.

May we keep her in our hearts forever.

Carolyn is survived by her six children, Michael, Stephen, Licia (Don), John, Jim (Tellie) and Carla; grandchildren Jane, David, Teresa, Rita, Katrina, Maya, Nicco, Bianca, Gianna, Jacob and Jessica; 14 great grandchildren, her sister Odessa Fischer; as well as many nieces and nephews. Carolyn is preceded by death by Fischer family members Margaret, Helene, Eleanore, Donald, Dorothea, Edward, Alma, Gertrude, Willard and Clarissa.
