Esther Torres Posada, a beacon of generosity and kindness, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, at the age of 76. Born on July 24, 1948, in Alice, Texas, Esther's life journey came to a tranquil conclusion in Mathis, Texas, surrounded by the love and warmth of her family.
Esther's memory will be treasured by her daughter, Ester (Rudy) Hernandez; her son, Ray (Priscilla) Soliz; and her granddaughter, Linda Cano (Frank Garcia), whom she raised as her own child. Her sisters, Consuelo (Eloy) Lopez and Oralia Torres; sister-in-law, Irene "Nena" Torres; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family, and dear friends, will forever celebrate the life of this extraordinary woman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Ramon Posada; her parents, Jose, and Consuelo Torres; her son, Ruben Soliz, Jr.; and her siblings, Teresa Garcia, Jose Torres, Jr. and Cresencio Torres, Sr.
Esther's educational journey saw her attend college, where she embraced learning with the same vigor she applied to every aspect of her life. A jack of all trades, her work ethic was one of punctuality, respect, honesty, and professionalism. Esther picked cotton, worked the fields, served customers as a cashier, and for many years, took pride in her role as a custodian for the Mormon Church. Her tireless dedication to her various roles was a testament of determination to succeed.
Quiet yet profoundly caring, Esther was known for her gentle and thoughtful nature. She possessed a remarkable talent in the kitchen, famous among family and friends for baking the best banana bread and pan de polvo. Her homemade tortillas, served with her delicious rice and beans, were the best. The holidays were a special time for Esther, as she joyously prepared tamales and menudo, continuing cherished traditions. Family gatherings, barbecues, and the simple pleasure of being surrounded by loved ones were among her favorite pastimes.
Esther's faith was a cornerstone of her existence; she thanked God daily for her family's well-being and the many blessings in her life. Attentive to the needs of her family and anyone in need of help and support, she was a pillar of strength and compassion within her community.
Generous, thoughtful, and gentle-these words encapsulate the essence of Esther Torres Posada. Her life was an embodiment of love in action, and her memory will serve as a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her. Esther's unwavering commitment to her family and her ceaseless generosity of spirit have left an indelible mark on the hearts of many.
As we bid farewell to Esther, we celebrate a life lived with grace and kindness. Her impact will continue to resonate through the lives she touched, the family she nurtured, and the community she so lovingly served. Esther's legacy of love and selflessness will be cherished, as her story lives on through the memories shared by those who loved her most.
