Esther Emilia Rivera

Esther Emilia Rivera, 84, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026 with her beloved family at her side. She was born in Utuado, Puerto Rico to parents Demetrio Rivera and Marcelina Rios. Esther was a loving, caring, devoted mother who took great care of her sons and their children. From a young age, Esther became the primary caregiver for her siblings, growing into a motherly figure in their lives. She was a true role model for generations to come. Esther enjoyed cooking and entertaining friends and family alike. Esther loved to see her neighbors, family, and friends united for events. She left a footprint everywhere she went leaving behind lasting friendships.

Esther is predeceased by her parents Demetrio and Marcelina Rivera, son: Melvin Cruz, and brother and sister in law: Victor and Isabel Rivera.

She is survived by her devoted and loving son Luis Cruz and his wife Dixie. Luis's unwavering love for his mother is unconditional. He was with her until her final breath. Esther also leaves her grandchildren and great grandchildren behind whom she loved and adored more than life.

Her siblings: Hilda, Aristides, Efrain, Lucy, Digna and Marcelina along with many nieces and nephews mourn her passing.

Visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the Hamilton Brenna-Cellini Funeral Home, 2365 Whitehorse-Mercerville Rd, Hamilton, NJ 08619.

Catholic funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 1200 Cedar Lane, Hamilton, NJ.
