Esther Sapp Obituary
Sapp – Esther Griffis Sapp, age 95, of Tallahassee, Florida passed away on Sunday, May 22, 2022 at Centre Pointe Health and Rehabilitation in Tallahassee, FL. She was born in Starke, Florida on May 1, 1927 to the late Gadson E. Griffis and Pearl Prevatt Griffis. Esther was raised in Starke where she graduated from Bradford High School in 1946. She met and married the love of her life, Vernon E. Sapp, Jr. and together they lived a beautiful life. Esther and Vernon had two children they loved dearly. She enjoyed being a mother and homemaker as she was able to care for her family. Esther enjoyed cooking, reading, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 60 years, Vernon E. Sapp, Jr.; her daughter, Susan Carol Whitaker; her grandson, Darrin Whitaker; and her brothers, William E. Griffis, James E. Griffis, and John L. Griffis.
Esther is survived by her loving son, Donald (Edith) V. Sapp of Tallahassee, FL; her son-in-law, Gene (Sheri) Whitaker of Lawtey, FL; her grandchildren, Lora Elam of Killen, AL, and Donna Sue Maddox of Jacksonville, FL; and her great grandchildren, Jasmyn Belcher of Jacksonville, Fl, Denver and Dalton Elam of Killen, AL, and Daniel Maddox of Jacksonville, FL.
A private interment will be held at Long Branch Cemetery in Maxville, Florida. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services and Archie Tanner Memorial Chapel, Starke, Fl. 904-964-5757. Visit www.ferreirafuneralservices.com to sign the family's guest book
