Esther Scott Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fiore Funeral Home - West Long Branch on Jan. 5, 2026.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Esther Weston-Scott, whose beautiful earthly journey began on April 5, 1932, and who peacefully transitioned on January 4, 2026.

Born in Alabama, Esther was elegant, feminine, and graceful, carrying herself with dignity and warmth. She delighted in conversation, laughter, and connection, and her presence left a lasting impression on everyone who knew her.

She received her education in Alabama and devoted her life's work to caring for others as a private duty nurse with Stouffers Nurses Registry, serving faithfully as a Registered Nurse's Aide.

A devoted church member and faithful Democratic Party volunteer, Esther was also a beloved neighbor, a loyal friend, a devoted mother, a proud grandmother, and a cherished great-grandmother. She was a true social butterfly, always generous with her love and her smile.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband David B. Scott, her parents Walter Weston and Corrine Riddle-Weston, her sons Larry and Gerald Williams, her daughter Trudy Grubbs, and her siblings: Walter, Nathaniel, Joseph, Will, W.C., Beatrice, Bernice, May, Alice, Velma, and Mary Weston.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children Janice Means and Deborah Grizzard; her grandchildren Pamela (Dr.Edmond) Turner, Angela and Roslynn Means, Sonji Grizzard, Tamika Grubbs, Asia (James) Grubbs-Norwood, and Elijah Craft; and her great-grandchildren Alex Turner, Yaseen and Ismael (Elliott) Abdullah, Brian and Brianna Williams, Jayla Golsby, Asher and Nomii Norwood; as well as her great-great-granddaughter Nova Abdullah and very special friend Clyde Harris

She is also lovingly remembered by a host of nieces and nephews, devoted neighbors, and cherished friends whose lives were brightened by her warmth, kindness, and radiant spirit.

From all of us, thank you, Esther, for your elegance, your femininity, your strength, and your love. Your tender words will forever echo in our hearts forever:

"We love you a bushel and a peck."

Funeral service will be held at 10 am Saturday at the Fiore Funeral Home, 882 Broadway, West Long Branch. Burial will be at 11 am Monday at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Arneytown. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com.
