With heavy heart, we announce the passing of Ethan Phi Van Dang, who left this world on January 14, 2025, at 24 years old. He brought joy and light to all who knew him, leaving an indelible mark on the lives he touched.
Ethan Phi Van Dang was born in Mobile, Alabama, on September 4, 2000. He was born prematurely at 31 weeks and spent ten days in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit before breaking out into the world to share his love, light, and charisma. Although he was born prematurely, he has been a fighter his entire life. Ethan was known for his kind heart, infectious laughter, practical jokes, and unwavering determination.
As a new pipe fitter at Ingalls Shipyard, Ethan was passionate about learning and growing in his field during training. He also enjoyed attending every family event and traveling whenever possible. Ethan enjoyed spending quality time with family and friends over meals and laughter, dominating pickleball sessions with his friends, and playing basketball.
Ethan Phi Van Dang is survived by his parents, Sonny Van Dang and Candi Thi Vo; younger sibling, Chloe Bao Tram Thi Dang; his maternal grandparents, De Nguyen and Canh Vo; paternal grandmother, Mona Lon Huynh; maternal aunts and uncles, Denise Vo, Mary Vo, Jason Vo (Crystal Nguyen), John Loc Vo (Anh Nguyen) and Hanh Vo; and paternal aunts and uncles, Tammy Dang (Dung Bui), Phuong Dang/Sky (Bich Dang) and Tango Dang (Pinky/Phuong To); paternal first cousins, Amy Bui, Tiffany Bui, Dustin Bui, Peter Dang, Paul Dang, Skylar Dang, Max Dang, Eliana Dang, and Edison Dang; maternal first cousins, Joey Vo (Loren Huynh), Kaine Wilson, Hannah McEwen, Dylan Vo, Katelyn Vo, Jeffery Vo, Lillian Nguyen, Sandra Vo, Aaralyn Vo, and Bronson Vo. Ethan also leaves behind his fiancé, Amanda Tran.
Ethan Phi Van Dang was preceded in death by his maternal uncle, Ricky Vo; and paternal grandfather, Du Dang.
Ethan will be remembered for the love he shared, the laughter he inspired, and the legacy of kindness he leaves behind. He will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
Visitation will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home on Howard Avenue in Biloxi on Thursday, January 23, 2025 and Friday, January 24, 2025 from 9:00 am until 5:00 pm and on Saturday, January 25, 2025 from 9:00 am until 11:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Vietnamese Martyrs Catholic Church on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at D’Iberville Memorial Park.
