Ethel V. Brayman

Ethel V. (Palmer) Brayman, 91, of Exeter, RI, died peacefully on Friday January 17, 2025, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late Leaon H. Brayman.
Ethel was born in West Greenwich, RI, on March 27, 1933, and was the daughter of Henry L. and Ethel (Barber) Palmer.
Ethel worked for the State of Rhode Island for over 20 years, originally at Ladd School then at the University of Rhode Island. She was an independent hard-working woman who could figure out what needed to be done and then get it done. She loved to be outside, and it was not unusual in her earlier years to find her outside painting the house or gardening.
She will be sadly missed by her four daughters, Nora Nikola (husband Steve) Lois Zampini (husband Joe) Donna Silva (husband Jerry) and Jill Brayman. She also leaves five grandchildren, Amanda Brayman, T.J. Brayman, Shawn Silva, Erin Silva and Stephanie Paul and several great grandchildren.
Ethel was a lifelong lover of animals from the sheep she grew up with on the farm to the rabbits, chickens, doves, cats and dogs that she had as pets throughout her adult life. She leaves behind her lovable rescue dog, Molly, and her cat, Socks, who was a constant companion.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, from Noon until 1:00 PM with a service starting at 1:00 PM at the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, 3A Bank St. Hope Valley, RI. Burial will follow in Wood River Cemetery, Richmond, RI.
In lieu of flowers donations in Ethels name may be made to the Pet Refuge, P.O. Box 83, North Kingston, RI. 02852
