Mrs. Ethel Iacono, age 93, of Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania and formerly of Claymont, Delaware passed away on Monday, August 18, 2025 surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Claymont, Delaware, she was the cherished only child of Mildred Jane Casey and Curtis Turner Lichtenstein. Ethel graduated from Claymont High School in 1950 and continued her education at Goldey–Beacom College. She spent most of her life in Claymont before moving to Myerstown, Pennsylvania, and later to Garnet Valley, Pennsylvania..
Ethel dedicated many years of service to the State of Delaware as Court Manager of Justice of the Peace Court #13, where she made lifelong relationships that she cherished before retiring in 1995.
Blessed with a long life and good health until just months before her passing, Ethel Jane found her greatest joy in time spent with her family. She will be remembered for hosting Sunday spaghetti dinners, where her homemade sauce and meatballs were always a hit. You could never leave her home without being offered a cup of hot tea and a round of cards with good conversation. Ethel enjoyed dining out and regularly got together for lunches with her girlfriends. She also loved reading, working crosswords and sudoku puzzles and going outlet shopping. She treasured watching her grandchildren grow into independent adults and relished every milestone of her expanding family. Ethel Jane's life was a testament to the joy of family, tradition, and simple pleasures, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
In addition to her parents, Ethel Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Vincent J. Iacono; and her stepsons, Michael W. Iacono and Thomas A. Iacono. She is survived by her devoted daughters: Susan J. Stamm (Ron), Terri A. Hill (Rodney), Karen L. Bush (Mark), Tina M. Grossman (Michael), Lisa J. Iacono and her beloved stepdaughters Anita L. Iacono and Linda J. Solich. She also leaves behind a legacy of love carried on by her twenty-six grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, as well as many extended family members from the Lichtenstein, Casey, Stephenson, and Miller families.
