Ethel Louise Hudson Propst went to be with her Lord on January 28, 2025. Ethel was born on February 13, 1941, in a small cottage at Honey Horn Plantation on Hilton Head Island, SC. Ethel devoted her life to her family and her Grandchildren were her pride and joy. She was a lifelong member of Cornerstone (First Baptist) Church in Bluffton and loved serving and worshipping her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Being born and raised on Hilton Head Island, she had the rare opportunity to witness the island grow from a sleepy, intimate community of dirt roads, no electricity or running water to what it has become today. Through it all, she loved Hilton Head Island as her home and cherished the precious memories she had growing up in such an amazing place. Ethel married Phillip Propst on August 16, 1959 and they enjoyed 65 years together. Ethel also enjoyed gardening. Any chance she had, she was in the yard tending to her plants and flowers. She called it her "therapy". On several occasions, people would stop and ask to purchase her plants and she has been known to sell a few. Ethel was predeceased by her parents, Mose and Alma Hudson, her sister Ann Goethe and brothers Al Hudson and Lynn Hudson. She is survived by her husband Phil, son Ashley (Velvia) Propst, daughter Gay Propst, Granddaughters Natalie (Joey) Knowles, Deana (Cody) Smith, grandsons Phillip Propst and Zachary Serra, Great grandchildren Aidan Propst, Ashley Knowles, Lola Propst, Ethan Knowles, Andrew Propst, Aaron Propst and a great-great granddaughter Aspyn Beggs. We love you and will miss you Mama but know the scriptures tell us "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord" and we are celebrating your home going to Beulah Land!
