It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jon W. Propst, who departed this life peacefully surrounded by his family on July 12, 2025. Born on October 18, 1947, in Gastonia, North Carolina to James and Ollie Propst.
As a Vietnam veteran of the U.S Army, Jon served his country with honor and integrity. After his military service, he became a police officer for Miami Dade County, dedicating 32 years of service. He was the epitome of hard work, dedication and love. His wisdom and unwavering guidance was sought by many and his calm presence was a source of comfort to all who knew him.
Jon was a dedicated husband to Julia, his loving wife of 57 years, and a devoted father to his children Joel, Becky, and Jeffrey, and a proud grandfather to four beloved grandchildren Ethan, Sarah, Rylee, and Kenadee, and a great grandfather to Noah. Jon's kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for his family will never be forgotten.
Jon's legacy is one of integrity, wisdom and love.
