Ethelyn Hyde Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Coats Funeral Home - Waterford on Sep. 22, 2025.
Lynn Hyde of Clarkston, Michigan went home to be with her Savior, Jesus Christ on September 20, 2025 at the age of 97. Lynn graduated from Clarkston High School in 1945, Michigan State University in 1949 and then taught at Clarkston High School for 30 years. She was the mother of Alan Hyde (Carol), Nancy Hamlin (Tom Behrens) and Steve Hyde (Mary), grandmother of 9, great-grandmother of 10. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Adeline Smith, sister Marjorie Kittredge, husband Les Hyde, daughter Carole Louise Hyde and grandson Benjamin Schwartz.

Lynn spent a lifetime in quiet and loving support of her husband, including his ministry and raising their family. She loved traveling to National Parks, taking scenic and animal photographs. Inspired by a photo she took of a raccoon, she wrote and illustrated a children's book, Amazing Tails. Lynn and her husband Les served at Waterford Community Church for many years.

A memorial service will be held October 11th, 2025 at 3:00 pm at the Waterford Community Church, 3900 Airport Road, Waterford, Mi, 48329. For all those who wish to do so, especially those unable to attend, we encourage you to post a tribute at www.CoatsFuneralHome.com. COATS FUNERAL HOME-WATERFORD

Nancy....I am sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of your Mom. My favorite is that the school allowed her to teach a Bible class. We started right at the beginning and I still remember her explaining how satan bruised Jesus“ heel but Jesus crushed his head. The significance of that victory is especially significant today. We will see her again because of it!
