Etienne Phillippe Gonthier (formerly known by his nieces and nephews as Uncle Teddy Bear) passed away at 56 years old at his home in Woodsville, NH.
Born May 15th, 1968, he grew up in Windsor, Vermont, and graduated from Windsor High School in 1988.
In his youth, he was in Boy Scouts for 5 years, an avid train enthusiast since early childhood, preferring N gauge, but also worked with HO and garden trains.
While in High School, he worked on local farms baling and stacking hay as well as driving and working with his dad at Coca-Cola in the summertime.
He drove a school bus for 21 years, studied the Holy Bible, and took seminary classes through the Worldwide Church of God. Etienne enjoyed working with his hands, doing farming, auto work, home repairs, gardening, and helping his mom at the local food pantry.
He kept a positive attitude, loved music, and bright, cheerful colors.
Etienne is survived by his father Hubert "Duffy" Gonthier; his mother, Arlene Phyllis (Maxham) Gonthier; his brother Aaron Gonthier Sr, and wife Angelea; his sister, Michelle Gonthier; Nephews, Aaron Gonthier Jr, Joseph Gonthier, and Johnathan Gonthier; Nieces, Jeannette (Gonthier) Smith and her husband Charles "Charlie" Smith, Grace Anne Gonthier; Great Niece, Elizabeth "Lizzy" Smith; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Calling hours will be Thursday May 8, 2025, from 5-7 at Ricker Funeral Home & Cremation Care of Woodsville, 1 Birch St. Woodsville, NH. There will be a graveside service on Friday May 9, 2025, at 10 AM at Plains Cemetery, Plains Cemetery Road, Perkinsville, VT
