Etta Mary Behrens

Etta Behrens, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 31, 2024, at the age of 77. She was born on May 14, 1947, to loving parents Robert Shields and Elizabeth Trowbridge Shields, and grew up in a New Jersey.
Etta was a woman of remarkable strength and resilience. Despite facing life's challenges, she approached each day with unwavering determination and grace. Her infectious laughter and gentle spirit brought joy to all who knew her.
In 1968, Etta married the love of her life, William Behrens, with whom she shared three decades of cherished memories. Together, they built a home filled with love, laughter, and unwavering support for each other. Although William passed away before her, his presence remained a guiding light in Etta's life.
Etta's dedication to her family was unparalleled. She was a devoted mother to her son, James Behrens, and daughter, Laurie Strickland, as well as a cherished mother-in-law to Sharon Behrens and David Strickland, providing them with love, guidance, and unwavering support. Her grandchildren, Hayley, Gage, Carly, and Jimmy held a special place in her heart, and she took great joy in watching them grow and flourish.
Etta's faith was central to her life. As a devout Catholic, she found strength, comfort, and guidance in her relationship with God and her church community.
Etta will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her legacy of love, kindness, and strength will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
