Etta Annell Hughes, 87, of Corinth, Mississippi, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at her home. Annell was gifted in many ways that shined through her life. She was an incredibly talented seamstress that often made clothes for not only herself and her family, but for others as well. She was skilled with art and often crafted in her spare time, and her yard was always full of beautiful flowers that thrived under her green thumb. Annell adored animals. In the 80’s and 90’s, she raised dachshunds and always took strays in when she found them. She was a member of Crossroads Baptist Church and enjoyed attending when she was able.
Annell is survived by her brother, Jimmy Hughes; her niece, Emily Hughes; her great-niece, Samantha Michaels; her great-nephews, Mark Lambert and Jordan Waldrop; her special friends, Sammy and Kay Fortengerry; and a host of other loved family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Florence and Clayton Hughes; her brother, Tulon Hughes (Della); her niece, Brenda Lambert; her special friend, Polly Marlar; and her sister-in-law, Nancy Hughes.
