Obituary of Eugene H. Beasock
Mr. Eugene "Gene" H. Beasock, 82, of N. Utica, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 19, 2023, as a result of a motor vehicle accident.
Eugene was born in Utica, on January 30, 1941, the son of Howard and Ora (Ladue) Beasock. He was raised in Rome and Utica and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. Gene proudly served in the US Navy from 1963 until his honorable discharge in 1967. On June 22, 1963, Gene was united in marriage with Linda A. Hughes at St. Patrick's Church in Utica, a loving and devoted union of 57 years until Linda's death in 2020. For many years, Gene was employed as an auto mechanic in the Utica area, retiring from Oriskany Garage Tire in Yorkville. He was an avid NY Yankees Fan and an avid bowler, having participated the American legion Whitestown post 1113 league and American Legion Utica Post 229 league. After retirement, Gene began reconditioning furniture in his free time. He was of the Catholic faith.
Mr. Beasock is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cheryl and Harold Thomas of Yorkville; his son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Noreen Beasock of Deerfield; three sisters, Millie Lints of Utica, Dolores Flagg of Deerfield and Gloria Kramer of Tonawanda, NY and a friend, Joan Kimball Locke, as well as eight cherished grandchildren, four adored great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Besides his beloved wife Linda, Gene was predeceased by his daughter, Susan Beasock; brother, James Beasock and sister, Mary Ellen Beasock.
Visitation for family and friends is Saturday, February 25, 2023, from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Heintz Funeral Home, 408 Herkimer Rd., N. Utica, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. at the conclusion of visitation. He will be laid to rest with his beloved Linda in Crown Hill Memorial Park in Kirkland.
