Eugene “Gene” Bloom, age 70, of Gilmanton, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 17, 2024 at his home with his loving family at his side.

Hewas born on February 2, 1954, the son of the late Donald and Melita (Smith) Bloom.

Gene attended Mondovi High School.

On September 28, 1974, Gene was united in marriage to Cynthia S. Schultz at Trinity Lutheran Church in Gilmanton. To this union, three daughters were born, to which Gene was so proud to call them his “Three Little Angels”.

After living in Mondovi for a short time, Gene and his family moved to Gilmanton, where they have resided ever since.

Gene worked construction and was a concrete laborer for Wieser Concrete.

He was a Green Bay Packers fan, enjoyed shooting pool and loved to spend time in the outdoors hunting, fishing and camping. Gene found great pride in being able to teach his daughters how to hunt and fish.

Gene was always so proud of his three angels, yet he somehow would wonder what it would be like to have a boy. His daughters made him wonder no more, as they blessed him with 3 sets of twin grandsons. Gene thoroughly enjoyed every moment he had with his grandchildren, especially pulling them in the sled with the lawn tractor or taking them blackberry picking. He was the true definition of a grandpa!

Gene will be sadly missed by his wife of 50 years, Cindy; daughters, Amy (Ray Kollwitz) Fedie, Stacey (Jake) Gruber and Carrie (Luke) Crawford; grandchildren, Joselyn (Spencer) Wosick, Mason & Mitchell Fedie, Mason Kollwitz, Whitney (A.J. King Quale) Rud, Carter & Caleb Rud, Mason Gruber, Zavier Crawford, Ashton (Maleah) Crawford, Aden Crawford and Isabel Crawford; one great grandson on the way; brother, Jeff (Pam Larson) Bloom; sister in law, Diane Bloom and also by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Besides his parents, Gene was preceded in death by his grandson, Aundray Kollwitz; brother, Chuck Bloom and his nieces, Melinda Bloom.

A celebration of Gene's life will be held at Porky's Pub in Mondovi on Saturday, November 9, 2024 starting at 2:00 PM.
