Eugene Vernon Brundage, known to all as Eugene, was born in the vibrant city of Maywood, California, on March 16, 1960. With a heart that overflowed with love and generosity, he lived his life in humble service to others, always ready to lend a supportive hand and lighten the room with his infectious humor. Eugene embarked on his final journey on August 22, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, courage, and steadfast devotion to family and friends.

A brave soldier in the U.S. Army, Eugene was a shining example of dedication and commitment. His military service was not just a career but a calling, and he served with honor and distinction. He was a true patriot, but he was also a man of the outdoors. His love for fishing and hunting was not just a hobby, but a testament to his deep appreciation for nature and the simple pleasures life offers. Eugene was the epitome of the saying, "The best things in life are the people we love, the places we've been and the memories we've made along the way."

Having lived in Diamond Bar, California and then making his home in Carl Junction, Missouri, Eugene's life was a rich tapestry of experiences and relationships. He was an embodiment of the word 'family', cherishing the bonds he shared with his sister Linda (Robert) McCoy and his brothers, Mike (Karen) Brundage, Roy (Kimberli) Brundage, Eddie (Jennifer) Brundage; nieces and nephews, Lonnie, Bobby McCoy, Kristina (Reid) Ethridge, Michael , Shannon, Chad, Clay, Zach, Logan and Hailey Brundage. Eugene is preceded in passing by his loving parents, Edward and Janet Brundage. A man of few possessions, Eugene's wealth lay in his relationships, his experiences, and the love he gave and received.

In memory of our beloved Eugene, the family encourages relatives and friends to share their photos and stories on the memorial page at www.simpsonfh.com. Let us continue to celebrate his life and the immeasurable impact he made on those around him. Services are under the direction of Simpson Funeral Home. As we remember Eugene, let us strive to carry forward his legacy of generosity, humility, support, and humor. In the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson, "It's not the length of life, but the depth of life."
