Eugene E. (Gene) Conrad (1945-2025) went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was 80 years old.
He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Jennie, his daughter, Cinnamon (Jan), his son Derek (Melissa) and grand-children Mickae, Joshua, Jordan (Erich), Matthew (Cierra), Morgan (JP), Colton (Taylor); great-grand-children Jake, Nora Mae, Cade, Hattie, Rachel, Elliot, Beau, and Callen.
He was a life member of the NRA and the AMA (American Motorcyclist Association). He was also a member of the New York State Rifle & Pistol Association.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Newark Valley where he taught the Men's Sunday School Class for a number of years.
He was retired from IBM (Endicott, Owego and IBM US) and a second career at TC3 (Tompkins-Cortland Community College) where he was an audio-visual technician aka 'Cap'n Video'.
He and Jennie also operated 'Berkshire Hills Snowmobile Parts' from their home in the suburbs of Berkshire for 33 years. 'Centrally located twenty-five miles from anywhere, convenient to nothing'.
Over the years he enjoyed snowmobiling and snowmobile racing, motorcycling and trap shooting. He served as vice president of the Berkshire Rod & Gun Club for several years.
He and Jennie loved going to the Americade motorcycle rally at Lake George for twenty-two consecutive years.
The family will host a celebration of Gene’s life from 1 to 4 PM on January 31, 2026, at Newark Valley First Baptist Church, 40 Whig Street, Newark Valley, NY 13811. Memories and condolences can be shared in his online guest book at www.macphersonfh.com. The family is under the caring guidance of MacPherson Funeral Home, in Newark Valley.
