Eugene J. Cormier, 92, of Rochester NH, passed away peacefully after a brief illness surrounded by his family on Monday March 9th at Frisbie Memorial Hospital.

He was born on August 1, 1933, in Rochester, NH to Arthur and Regina (Forgue) Cormier.

Eugene attended Holy Rosary school in Rochester, NH and graduated from Holy Rosary High School, class of 1952. After graduation, Eugene was drafted into the Army where he held the rank of Private First Class. He was honorably discharged as a Korean War Veteran. He held several jobs throughout his working career ending at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard working in

the mechanical engineering department. He retired from the Shipyard in 1997.

He had a strong faith in God and was deeply involved in his church community and could often be found serving as a greeter at Mass or assisting as an altar server during Masses and funerals. He also helped collect the weekly offertory and volunteered his time preparing meals for the many church luncheons. He was involved with many groups and organizations. He served on the credit committee at Holy Rosary Credit Union for over 35 years. He served in the Knights of Columbus for many years where he held the positions of 3rd degree, 4th degree and Grand Knight. Known for his constant smile and kind heart, Eugene was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him.

Eugene was pre-deceased by his son Daniel Cormier, his parents, brother and two sisters.

Surviving members of his family include his loving wife of over 69 years, Marguerite (Morin) of Rochester, NH, two sons, Denis Cormier and his wife Norma of Rochester, Dale Cormier and his wife Deborah of Barrington, his daughter Donna Cormier and Tony Macaione of Rochester and daughter-in-law Sharon Cormier of Las Vegas; grandchildren Danielle Descart, Erica Amazeen, Steve Eastman, Drake Cormier, Damarah Cormier, Tyler Berube, Noah Berube, Caden Berube, Katherine Cormier, and Benjamin Cormier; great grandchildren Michael Ducharme, Rylee Ducharme, Adriana Ducharme, Ava Ducharme, Hadley Eastman, Mackenzie Eastman, and Delilah Berube; along with several nephews.

Services: a time of visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 on Monday, March 16th at the Grondin. Funeral Home, 177 N Main Street, Rochester NH. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 17th at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary Parish, 189 N Main Street, Rochester NH.

Burial will be at a later date at the Holy Rosary Cemetery.

I am saddened to hear of your loss. I didnt know Eugene personally but he was good friends with our daughter in laws grandparents and we would always hear how he was doing.
