Eugene Roam Dobbins II, affectionately known as Roam to his family and friends, was the eldest of two children born to Roam Eugene Dobbins and the late Denise Dobbins on April 29th, 1972, in Randallstown Maryland. "Genie" was a "Momma's Boy." He was the eldest of four siblings and they shared a unique bond.
During his youth he was on a traveling baseball team, had a love for swimming and playing football with the Baltimore County Public School System where he received his education.
As a young man, he held several jobs but committed to his career as a barber. He experienced great joy cutting hair and when you sat in his chair, you would be regaled with all the nuances in life as he saw them through his eyes.
Roam's life was deeply driven by the pursuit of the simple things that life had to offer. He believed that it should be filled with morals, happiness and keeping family first, those were the values that would reward you with the riches in life, the things that money could not buy.
In July of 1994, on a blind date that was set-up by his very best friend, Clyde "Reiko", Roam met his soulmate and best friend, Carolene "Cookie" Jacks, whom he called "Boo." They had their only child, Malik D. Dobbins on June 28th, 1996, they were often called the perfect trio. Roam's pursuit of happiness for his family gave him the firmness of purpose to ask for his "Boo's" hand in marriage, so they wed on September 16th, 2006. Never one without a plan, he decided that it would be in the best interest of his family if they laid down stakes in a new state, so they headed off and sought what would prove to be a bountiful life in
York, Pennsylvania where they planted roots by purchasing their first home and he created his very own successful cleaning business.
Roam shared such an auspicious life with his family and was head over heels when Malik announced that he would be having a baby with his fiancé, Bryanna Wollaston. Melody aka "Stink Butt" (to him) entered this world on April 11th, 2020 and "Popsie" was born. Roam felt that he had won the lottery, a loving wife, an upstanding son and the twinkle of his eye, Melody. A steadfast believer that family was everything, he always looked for a multitude of ways to provide for their happiness and security. All Roam needed was his family, cooking breakfast on Sunday morning, with his sous chef, "Stink Butt" Baltimore crabs, The Baltimore Ravens and above all, his vanilla Swiss almond ice cream, by Haagen Dazs (which he ate faithfully, 365 days of the year) as he settled in at night, with the love his life.
He was preceded in death by his Mother, Denise Dobbins. Roam leaves behind a legacy created with his loving Wife, Carolene (Cookie), his Son, Malik, and his Granddaughter, Melody. He leaves to mourn his Father, Roam "Gene," and Stepmother, Michelle Dobbins, Mother-in-law, Ella Lynn, three Siblings, Keita, Michael and Kiayra Dobbins, Maternal Aunt, Marsha (Aunt Fuzzy) and (Spouse) Uncle Tyrone Scott, Maternal Uncle Marshall (Uncle Brother) Leonard, Paternal Aunts, Joyce Cofield, Brenda Smith, Paulette Blaylock, Maria McKinley, Francis Cottman, Earlene Cottman, and Romaine Dobbins; His Cousins; His Honorary Second Parents, Clyde (Ronnie) and Juathawala (Peaches) Harris, Best Friend, Clyde Reiko Harris, two Sisters-in-law, Ruth Friend-Jones and Crystal Dobbins, three Brothers-in-law, Grady Jacks, Jr, Cardoza Jacks and Timothy Lynn Jr, and a host of nieces, nephews and family, as well as friends.
