Eugene Francis Gray Jr., age 78, born in Warrenton, VA, formerly of Nokesville, VA and later of Rutledge, TN went to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 17, 2025. He loved model trains and had a passion of driving throughout the United States. He retired from American Oil Company and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. Eugene was a generous man and produced his own CDs to give to his neighbors and friends every year during Christmas.
Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Francis Sr. and Christine Elizabeth Gray, and brother, Keith James Gray, of Alabama. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Frances Irene Gray; daughter, Lynette Marie Shaw; granddaughter, Emma Elizabeth Elliott; and sister-in-law, Geena Gray. A 2:00 p.m. military graveside will take place Thursday, September 25, 2025 at the East Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery with the Volunteer Honor Guard and Rev. Bill Ulmet officiating.
