West Lafayette - Eugene G. Hills, 94, passed away on October 1, 2025, in West Lafayette, IN. He was born on February 6, 1931, to Charles and Barbara (Rank) Hills in Manitowoc, WI. He married the late Lila M. Matheys on July 26, 1952, at St. Luke's Catholic Church in Two Rivers, WI.

Gene served in the U.S. Army from June 1949 to April 1953, receiving numerous decorations, including three Bronze stars with the 430th Engineer Construction Battalion. His 39-year career with Credit Union's included leadership roles at Banta Credit Union, John Deere, and Purdue Federal Credit Union.

Gene is survived by his four children. Sandra of Oconomowoc, WI, William (Mary Kay) of Scottsdale, AZ, Rick (Elaine) of Oconomowoc, WI and Patti (Mark) Probst of Scottsdale, AZ. Gene is cherished by nine grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He enjoyed time on the golf course, traveling with Lila and cheering on his favorite teams.

A celebration of life service will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home, 2228 Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066, on Monday, October 13, 2025 with a visitation from 11:00am-12:00pm and a service to follow.

Donations may be made in Gene's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society.
