Eugene "Trey" Thomas Hoover III was lifted by God on May 2, 2023, at the age of 42. He was born on July 16, 1980 in Houston, Texas to his loving mother, Cornelia Dineen, and father, Eugene Thomas Hoover II.
Raised in Houston, Texas, Trey was brought up alongside his sisters – Kelly Chebret and Courtney (Ronnie) Curry. Along the way, Trey formed brotherhoods with people who weren't blood but whose bonds were thick as such. Those including Mike Jackson, Chris Straney, Jay Mathis, and many others. Trey was a proud uncle to his nieces, Madyson and Olivia Chebret. Through thick and thin, his love for his family never withered but only grew stronger. This was a testament to his loyalty.
Most would say that Trey was a fearless adrenaline junkie who was tough as nails well they were absolutely correct. For those who knew him, this designation wasn't a label, rather a way of approaching life. He lived in the fast lane. Taking advantage of open highways and clear skies as often as possible as a form of therapy. Trey's southern pride was a part of his identity.
Being born and raised in Houston, Texas, Trey had the Dixie flag tattooed on his body to serve as a reminder. He was an advocate for physical fitness and personal aptitude, often finding solace in relieving his stress by sweating it out. As a man that represented strong mental fortitude, he inspired others to have the same courage. However, it was the loving, compassionate, and familial side of Trey that his loved ones held onto ever so closely. His spirit carried the heart of a lion.
Trey Hoover – a son, a brother, an uncle, a father.
Trey now leaves behind his son, Ryland Thomas Hoover and Rylands mother, Catherine Hoover. He often claimed his proudest accomplishment in life was to be chosen as this young man's dad. That is indicative of the man Trey was and strived to be.
Trey now joins his mother, whom he loved and missed dearly. May they reunite and be at peace, once again, in Zion.
