Gene “The Barber” went to his heavenly home on Tuesday night, October 31, 2023 with the love of his life, Mary Kay Rokusek by his side. Gene was born May 14, 1944 to his parents, Frank and Evelyn Kvasnicka. He graduated from Tripp High School in 1962. He served for 6 years with the National Guard. Gene was a barber at Broadway Barbers for over 50 years.
Gene loved feeding and watching birds, flying his model airplanes, having his daily coffee at the Fryn’ Pan Restaurant, always having a spotless, shiny car and of course, his many “Monday” road trips with Mary Kay.
Gene loved his many “treasures” in his barber shop—many model airplanes, magazines, newspapers and many other treasures, plus of course a little dust.
He is survived by Mary Kay Rokusek; nephews, David Kvasnicka, John (Amy) Soukup and Paul (Jade) Soukup; niece, Laurie Struchen; 1 great-niece and 3 great-nephews.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Evelyn; grandparents; aunts; uncles; Laurie’s husband, Brett; brother, Charles and sister, Elaine.
