EJ was raised in the Catholic faith and following his graduation from high school he enlisted in the Missouri (U.S. Army) National Guard where he served for almost seven years from 1968-1975. During his working life he was employed at Frontier Insurance, had his own printing company, "South Side Industries", and was the public administrator for Maries County for sixteen years.
EJ is survived by sisters: Judy Falter and Doris Lehmen, and husband, Leon, all of Freeburg; ten nephews and nieces, several great nephews and nieces, and great-great nephews and nieces; and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Fred; his mother, Leona; brother, Harold Meyer; sister, Rita Falter, and husband, Roman; and brother-in-law Harold Falter.
Visitation for EJ will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 12, 2024, with his Mass of Christian Burial following at 10:00 a.m., all in the St. Boniface Catholic Church, 3974 Highway T, Koelztown, Missouri 65048, with Rev. Basil Tigga and Deacon Michael Brooks officiating under the direction of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, Vienna.
Memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Eugene J. "EJ" Meyer are suggested to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital with envelopes at the church the day of service or in care of Birmingham-Martin Funeral Home, P.O. Box 250, Vienna, MO 65582

Always a good time when EJ would come into our office at the courthouse. He always made us smile. He would bring us a treat or lunch at times. He told me about a childhood treat and I surprised him once with it. EJ was so happy with it. Rest in Peace EJ.

I am so sad to hear of EJ's passing. I remember all the fun times we had when he had his DJ system and all the adventures we went on together. He was a great neighbor. I will truly miss him. Rest in peace dear friend.
