Eugene Mobley

 

Eugene Mobley, more affectionately known as “Louie,” was born  July 21, 1953 in Safford Alabama, Dallas County, to the late Evelene Woods. He was the oldest of 4 children, and accepted Christ into his life at an early age. Louie attended Indianapolis Public Schools before enlisting in the Air Force in 1971.

 

Louie enjoyed working on cars, listening to country music and dancing. Louie was quite the handyman and could fix anything. You would often see Louie riding his bicycle everywhere. In Louie’s spare time he  enjoyed collecting many items, especially knives. Louie had several friends and never met a stranger. 

 

On January 1, 1978, Louie was united in marriage to Sandra (Hayes) Harvey who preceded him in death. Their union was blessed with five beautiful children: Grigitte (step-daughter), Bradley, Latasha, Michael and DeVona (Devon). Louie later became a loving grandfather to Jerrell, Stanika, LaSandra, Madison, Erin, Blake, Jazzmyne, Jakobi, Donavon and Dylan.

 

Louie departed this life on Friday, June 30, 2023 where his mother Evelene Woods and his brother Willie Mobley preceded him in death and welcomed him into Heaven with loving arms. 

Louie leaves to cherish his memory, his Children, Grandchildren, his Sister Mattlene Mobley, Brother Jare Woods(Erica) and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. 

 

John 14:27 Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. 

 

Psalm 23:4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley. I fear no evil, for you are with me: your rod and your staff, they comfort me.

Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free

I’m following the path God has laid you see.

I took His hand when I heard him call

I turned my back and left it all.

 

I could not stay another day

To laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way

I found that peace at the close of day.

 

If my parting has left a void

Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss

Oh yes, these things I too will miss.

 

Be not burdened with times of sorrow

I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My life’s been full, I savored much

Good friends, good times, a loved one’s touch.

 

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief

Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your hearts and peace to thee

God wanted me now; He set me free.
