Gene not only was an educator but also an accomplished jazz musician playing on the road on the east coast and in The US Army Band while serving during The Korean War. Among his many hobbies Gene loved skiing, golf, cooking and tennis having been a longtime member of The Grafton Tennis Club. In the last few years he particularly enjoyed playing mixed doubles tennis with his wife and golf with his longtime friends. He also enjoyed planting and harvesting his garden and sharing his bounty with his many dear friends, Gene also took great pride in cooking and entertaining for his family and friends. He was delighted in February when a surprise 80th birthday party was given honoring him.
