Eugene LeRoy "Gene" Orebaugh Sr.

Eugene (Gene) LeRoy Orebaugh Sr. was born in Honolulu, HI. Gene met the love of his life, Marion Krouse, during church activities in the Washington DC area. Gene was a member of the National Guard. After serving years with the Guard, Gene was offered a job teaching Nike and Hawk missiles at Redstone Arsenal. He transferred to the 1169th Engineering Group in Alabama.

Gene went on to become a Foreign Military Sales Specialist. He retired from civil service in 1999 and worked as a government contractor supporting the same group before his final retirement.

Gene suffered with heart issues and was preceded in death by his mother, Agnes Orebaugh; father, Louis Orebaugh; brother, Alan Orebaugh and his wife, Marion. The loving father is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Newby; son, Eugene Orebaugh Jr (Donna); daughter, Barbara Kruk (Tom); son, Michael Orebaugh (Burna); son, Robert Orebaugh (Shannon); brother, James Orebaugh (Valerie); sisters, Violet Orebaugh, Jackie Weber and June Elliott; sisters-in-law, Katie Stuart and Roberta Hall (Blaine); 10 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a private memorial service to celebrate his life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Heart Association in his name.
