Born December 29, 1930, passed away peacefully at home on September 11, 2025.
Predeceased by his wife Mary Lyn and his grandson, Nicholas. Survived by his children, Regina (Gerry) Sutton, Carla Pizzoli (Steve Meisner), Louis (Lori) Pizzoli , Andrea (David) Hauer; grandchildren, Jason, Beau, Kelsi, Joseph, Isabella, Gino, Morgan; and his great-grandchildren, Grace, Patrick, Haylie, Adriana, Ben, Giavana, Norah, Sam, Bear, and Gavin Gene.
Eugene lived a full and meaningful life, devoted to his family, his work, and his passions. He attended Seventeen School in Rochester, NY, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1947. Shortly after, he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force in 1950, completing training at the Aerojet Jet Engine Tech School. He served with distinction in the Special Operations Squadron at Eglin Air Force Base, Duke Field, as part of the 3205 Group, and was a crew chief on the last operational B-17G. He also took part in Operation Greenhouse, the atomic bomb tests in the Pacific, before being honorably discharged.
Following his military service, Eugene pursued a successful career in engineering. He worked as a tool and die maker, earned certification from New York State, and studied at RIT, where he received diplomas as a tool designer and tool engineer. He went on to serve as a process engineer for Rochester Products working on the Quadrajet Carburetor, where he retired in 1988 as Senior Process Engineer. After retirement, he continued designing specialized instruments for a specialty shop.
Eugene was also a talented artist, a signature member of the Rochester Art Club, and an exhibiting member of the Rochester Suburban Art Club. He had a deep appreciation for creativity, craftsmanship, and precision throughout his life.
He and his beloved wife, Mary Lyn, married in 1957 and shared a beautiful marriage until her passing in 2017. Together they raised four successful children, of whom Eugene was incredibly proud. He was also a life member of the NRA and enjoyed many friendships through his hobbies and community.
Eugene often said he lived every day of his life with no regrets, cherishing his family and the love he shared with his wife. His legacy of devotion, hard work, creativity, and love will live on through his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all who knew him.
Calling hours will be held 4-7PM Thursday September 18 at Farrell-Ryan Funeral & Cremation Servcices. Funeral mass 9:30 AM Friday September 19 at St. Lawrence Church. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
