Eugene Galen Ross, Jr., age 71 of Dunlap, Tennessee, passed away Thursday, August 7, 2025. He was born in Soddy - Daisy, Tennessee on January 24, 1954 to the late Eugene Ross, Sr. and Frances Jones Ross. He was a member of Dunlap church of Christ.

Gene was retired from CBL & Associates Properties as IT Director. He had an analytical mind and could fix virtually anything. His former co-workers affectionately referred to him as "MacGyver".

Gene's passion was building and flying radio-controlled airplanes. He also loved spending time with his four-legged babies, Boogie and Maximus, working on the farm and spending time on his tractor. His kindness, generosity and consideration of others touched everyone who knew him. His friends remember him as a man of great integrity.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John Ed Martin, sister, Faith Ellis and sister-in-law, Yvonne Martin.

He is survived by his loving wife, Anita Pickett Ross, his sister, Alice (Gordon) Stanfield of Nashville, his brother, Charles (AKA Dixie) Martin of Soddy -Daisy and his brother-in-law, Keith (Christy) Pickett of Dunlap as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephew.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Ewton Funeral Home & Cremation Center with Bro. Freddie Clayton officiating. Burial will follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery. Family will receive friends Saturday from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
