Coach, I was always appreciative of your solid, tough guidance both in football and life in general. Bidney and I enjoyed our multiple PE classes! Thank you being the best line coach. Keith Vantine, Capt. `73 football bulldogs

Happy anniversary Geno. Feb. 6 was a sad day losing you, but a day to celebrate your entry to your true home as well (it's also our son Mike's birthday, which is nice for me). Sandy and I still live here in the house you sold to me, when your aunt and uncle could no longer live here. It was a great little home for Mike and Julie to grow up in, and I thank you every day of my life for what you did for me and my family. I am also grateful for the guidance, wisdom, and friendship you shared with me. I look forward to seeing you again my friend.

This is a very difficult time, dealing with the loss of Dad, but I am given solace seeing the positive impact he has had on so many lives. I will always be greatful for the lessons he shared and the life he provided for us. The way he welcomed my wife into the family, treating her as the daughter he never had and special bond he formed with his grandchildren. Seeing him through their eyes made me realize, even more, how lucky I was to have him as a parent.

You have always been Sir to me. A cantankerous curmudgeon who always treated me with love and kindness. I will miss your laugh, excellent sense of humor and how whenever I asked how you were doing your standard response of "I'm beautiful". You always made me feel truly like part of the family and I'm grateful for the years that I've been lucky to have known you. I will miss you always.

I will always have loving memories of my Father who carried himself with old school values of class and honor. What he taught me, and most of the people he met- will live on forever...

I really liked Mr. Seidleck... more than he liked me. He was the Dean Martin of gym teachers and I was the John Lennon of gym students. I remember sitting on the sidelines after getting out during a dodgeball game and trying to strike up a conversation with him. Being a young artsy rocker long haired hippy type I tried having some philosophical conversation with Mr. Seidleck ... about the morality of violence in sports. Hoooo... he did NOT care for that... but I was COMPLETELY niave and well meaning. He said something that changed my life, set me on a new path .... he looked at me and said, "Jackson... YOU'RE A SNOB!" - I was completely taken aback, horrified.... partly because of what he said and partly because that broke the 4th wall of what teachers where allowed to say to students at that time. I was mortified! How could someone get this impression of me!? I was sooooo SPIRITUAL. What was I doing wrong? Well, it was a wake up call... as a teenager trying to figure things out, I was very judgmental... looking back, this was a phase but also a defense mechanism for dealing with a world I found no part in. As a boy becoming a Man, you sometimes need a good hard slap in the face to tell you to cut that crap out. I never held it against him, I appreciated his honesty, and always held him in high regard. God Bless you Mr. Seidleck, I wish you happy flight in the next world. Thank you for helping me along my path.

Coach;
The toughness you demanded of your players on Howe field lead to the last undefeated Hamburg football team in 40 plus years. You mentored many with fairness, disipline, common sense & humor. At the level of my parents you taught me and prepared me for the many curve balls of life.

Coach had that great smile although we did not see it much during baseball season...we only won 2 games, ugh. He always treated us respect which is hard coaching us teenagers. Even with his bad back he could still swing that fungo bat! RIP Coach.

"Geno" was a friend and mentor to me. Early in my career, he took me under his wing. He made me a better counselor and a better person. I thoroughly enjoyed learning from him, talking with him, and golfing with him. He had a great sense of humor, He was a very good man, with a lot of class. I hope Geno puts a good word in for me up in heaven.

Without question one of the favorite characters I've been associated with in my life. It was an honor to play for him at Hamburg. I'm sorry that I never ran into him as an adult, but glad to see he had a pretty long run. Always picture him in a brown cardigan sweater. RIP coach.
