Eugene "Gene" Senechal, 82, of Mount Vernon, ME, formerly of Fort Fairfield, ME, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, surrounded by his loving family, from natural causes.

Born in Grand Falls, Canada, Gene was the son of Wilfred and Martina (Morrissey) Senechal.

In 1963, Gene married the love of his life, Linda Smyth, beginning a 62-year marriage filled with devotion, laughter, and countless memories. Together, they were blessed with two daughters, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren to date.

Gene and Linda were successful entrepreneurs for many years, owning multiple businesses, including long-haul trucking, bottled gas delivery, and gift and antique shops as well as a clothing store before retiring. Even after "retirement," Gene continued to work part-time in various roles-he was a true jack of all trades who loved staying busy. A talented restorer of classic vehicles, Gene took great pride in bringing old treasures back to life. He also had a lifelong passion for Harley-Davidson motorcycles and rode as much as he was physically able.

Charismatic and quick-witted, Gene was always the life of the party, known for his sharp sense of humor right up until his final days. Most of all, he was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who cherished time with his family above all else.

Gene is survived by his wife, Linda; daughters Suzanne Senechal-Jandreau (husband - Jimmy Jandreau) of Mt. Vernon, ME, and Gina Astle (husband - Scott Astle) of Dalton, NH; grandchildren Carly Lynch (husband - Brendan) of Manchester, NH, Tanner Pelletier (wife - Lea) of Tamworth, NH, Emma Jandreau of Hudson, MA, and Karter Jandreau (wife - Juniper) of Caribou, ME; great-grandchildren Kellan, Lennon, and Nolan; and sister Maritta Labrador of Virginia Beach, VA; sister-in-law Sylvia Kilpatrick (husband - Dawson), brother-in-law Dale Hanson (wife - Lorraine), sister-in-law Doris Demerchant, brother-in-law Larry Hanson. He held close bonds with a special nephew, Fred Davenport, and dear friends Kevin Pelletier and Gary Condon. Gene was predeceased by his good friend Ernest Stein.

The family will gather for a private celebration of life in Gene's honor in early fall.

They extend heartfelt thanks to MaineGeneral Home Care and Hospice, along with the many caring professionals who supported Gene and his family over the past months, helping to fulfill his wish to remain at home.

Memorial donations in Gene's memory may be made to MaineGeneral Home Care and Hospice.
