Timothy J. Joyce Jr.

Timothy J.Joyce Jr., 77, passed away on Feb. 17, 2026, after a prolonged period of declining health.Tim was born in Portland, ME on Nov. 9, 1948 the son of Timothy J and Dora Joyce.

Tim served in the U.S. Navy from 1968 to 1972. He then joined the Press Herald as a pressman. He and his wife, Gloria, bought a home, began their family and Tim began raising a nice garden. He suffered a crippling stroke in 1988 that left him with a paralyzed right side and severely compromised his ability to talk. For the next 37 years he navigated the difficult life of a person with severe disabilities. In spite of this he told his sister, Kathleen, that he has had a "good life". This illustrated his resilience and ability to overlook his problems.

Tim was predeceased by his wife, Gloria, and his daughter, Kelly. He leaves his son, Timothy J. Joyce lll, and his wife, Kelly, of Cumberland. He also leaves his two grandsons, Kaleb and Kurtis. He also leaves his sister, Kathleen Veroneau of Westbrook, his sister, Mary O'Bradovich of Gray, his brother, Philip of Brewer and wife Barbara, and several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to acknowledge the care team at Southridge Living Center in Biddeford for their years of caring and loving care.

Private celebration of life is planned for May.
