Eugene Slomovitz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Epstein Memorial Chapel - Columbus on Feb. 11, 2026.
Eugene Marc Slomovitz, a charismatic character with an infectious sense of humor, took his final bow on February 7, 2026. Known for his reliable nature and his unwavering support, Eugene was the type of guy who would show up to cheer you on or support your dreams and help make them a reality. Born in Cleveland, Ohio on November 24, 1953, he lived out his later years in Columbus.

He leaves behind his partner, Diane Pohlschneider. His sons, Jordan and Aaron Slomovitz, inherited their father's fun-loving spirit and knack for perfectly timed punchlines. His sister, Marci Hess, and brothers, Rick and Harvey Slomovitz were frequent co-stars in his life. He was also survived by his daughter-in-law, Erica and grand children Brenda, Norah, Jenevieve and Ezekiel as well as daughter-in-law, Ashley and grand children Kiera, Haydn, Kyson, Jonah and Jackson who learned quickly to always expect the unexpected with Eugene. He was preceded in death by his parents, Steven and Evelyn Slomovitz, who set the stage for his life of humor and heart.

Eugene's finale will be held graveside on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 1:30pmEST at the Flint Cemetery, located at 8187 Flint Road, Columbus, Ohio, 43235. The event promises to be a celebration of a life well-lived, filled with laughter, fond memories, and probably a joke or two. Shiva will be held at the home of Marci Hess on Friday, February 13th from 10am-4pm. 18025 Cinnabar Trail, Chagrin Falls, Ohio 44023
