Eugene Robert Snyder, age 87, of Dawsonville, Georgia, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2025. He was born on January 8, 1938, in Ogdensburg, New York, to the late Kenneth James Snyder and Mary Agnes Crump. Eugene was a man full of life, laughter, and love. He was married to his beloved wife Joan for 48 wonderful years. Together, they built a strong and loving family that was the center of Eugene's world. He was known for his warm smile, friendly nature, and playful spirit. A true prankster at heart, Eugene found great joy in collecting many things-his treasures reflected a curious spirit and a deep appreciation for the stories behind each item. He had a knack for cooking and was especially proud of his cabbage rolls. He loved food, sweets, and never passed up a trip to Golden Corral. Janice's peach cobbler was one of his favorites, and he enjoyed riding the roads. Eugene had a special way of making each of his children feel like they were his favorite-he told each one they were, and somehow, they all believed it. The truth is, they were all his favorite. His love for his family was deep and unwavering. Eugene is preceded in death by his parents, daughters, Treasa Ann Long, Sabrina Hampton, son, Archie Hampton, brothers, Jerry Snyder, Paul Snyder, Donnie Snyder and Leon Snyder. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, survived by wife, Joan Snyder, his children, David (Vicky) Snyder, Dan (Andrea) Snyder, Jackie (Beth) Snyder, Mary Lynn (Brad) Anglin, Janice (Jim) Ray, David (Nathaly) Hampton, Tracy (Kevin) Popham, Kenny Snyder, 43 grandchildren, and 30 great-grandchildren, his brother, Jimmy Snyder, sister, Beverly Furnace. Eugene will be deeply missed but fondly remembered for the joy he brought to everyone around him. The family will receive friends at Cagle Funeral Home on Friday, August 8, 2025, from 6:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 11:00am-9:00pm and Sunday, August 10, 2025, from 10:00am until the service hour. Eugene's funeral service will be conducted in The Robert A. Cagle Memorial Chapel on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at 3:00pm with Rev. Ben Mock Officiating. Interment will follow the service at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Serving as Pallbearers will be Ethan Snyder, Garret Snyder, Kyle Martin, Kenny Hampton, Jeff Hyde, Johnathan Sandoval.
