Eugene William Staskavich

Eugene (Gene) W. Staskavich, 77, beloved father, brother and friend died on Monday, February 26, 2024 after a gracious and generous life. Born in Hartford, CT, he was the son of the late Anthony J. Sr. and Mildred F. (Vensas) Staskavich and brother of the late Anthony J. Staskavich Jr.
Gene was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and served honorably in Vietnam with the US Army. He had a long career in finance which began at the Merchant Bank in Boston. Later he served as Chief Financial Officer at the New England Fellowship for Rehabilitation Services in RI for 35 years. Gene concluded his career as a self-employed and highly respected business and tax consultant.
Gene is survived by his sister, Catherine A. Staskavich, his daughter, Julie Richardson and her daughter Chandra Skuce, his son Kevin Richardson and wife Leia and their children Kai and Finn, his dear friends George Kostelis and wife Traci and their son Sammy, Biz Morris and her daughter, Katie as well as additional loving family and friends.
Throughout his years, Gene touched many lives. He was filled with innate gentleness, patience, strength, loyalty, and dignity; he radiated a sense of depth and philosophical wisdom. He was insightful, curious, and an available and present listener. He loved to laugh. His music and light will be missed.
His funeral and military honors will be private.
