Eugene E. Stefanko

Eugene E. Stefanko, 77, of Latrobe, passed away Saturday, Dec. 27, 2025, at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital. Born May 16, 1948, in Latrobe, he was the son of the late Edward S. Stefanko and Elizabeth (Majorsky) Stefanko. Eugene was a member of St. Florian Catholic Church, United. A veteran of the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps and was a member of the David Westphal Veterans Foundation. Prior to his retirement, he was the owner and operator of E&B Landscaping. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, but his passion was fishing. Eugene will be lovingly remembered as a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his best friends from his time in the Marine Corps, Terry Middleton and Paul Fanton. Eugene is survived by his wife of 56 years, Deborah J. (Noel) Stefanko, of Latrobe; one daughter, Arlana M. Stefanko, of Toms River, NJ; two grandsons, Stephen Pritts and Connor Pritts; one brother, Dennis A. Stefanko, and his wife, Wendy, of Ligonier; three sisters, Gertrude "Trudy" Urgena and her husband, Dr. Regino, of Arizona, Mary Beth Shaw and her husband, Bill, of Barboursville, VA, and Rosalia Crago of Columbus, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, Jan. 2, 2026, at LOPATICH-BRINKER FUNERAL HOME LLC, 601 Weldon St., Latrobe. Members of the Rolling Rock Detachment of the Marine Corps League will conduct military services at 10:45 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, in the funeral home. A funeral liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 3, 2026, in the funeral home, with the Rev. John Sedlak officiating. Interment will be private.
