Eugene "Gene" Fred Taube of Campbellsville, the son of the late Fred Taube and Blanche Holcomb Taube, was born in Knox County, IN, on June 17, 1931, and departed this life on March 25, 2025, in Campbellsville. He was 93 years of age.
He professed faith in Christ and was a member of the Woodlawn Christian Church and had also served as Assistant Minister of Pastoral Care in Michigan, and also served as an Elder. He was a veteran having served his country honorably in the United States Army in Korea. He was a factory worker and a former employee at Dollywood. He loved gardening, cooking, landscaping, and reading. He also loved playing board games and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his loving wife of 67 years, Hedy Herter Taube, having united in marriage on July 13, 1957. Three children: Butch Taube (Rhonda) of Texas, Vicki Barnes (Bruce) of Florida, and Scott Taube (Beth) of Campbellsville. 5 grandchildren: Ryan Taube (Terri) Marc Taube and Fiancé Lindsey, Heather Bruno (Zach), Lindsey Hines (Stephen), Kayla Stultz (David). 6 great-grandchildren: Haylea Taube, Aiden Bruno, Carter Hines, Aubree Hines, Maizie Taube, and Adalinn Stultz.
Also surviving is one sister, Bonnie Florey of Michigan.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Micah Bruno, one sister, and one brother, Doris Buck and Bill Taube.
The family will have a memorial service at a later date.
