Eugenio A. Occhipinti, 91, of Topsfield, passed away Monday, May 12, 2025 at the Kaplan Hospice House Danvers. He was the husband of the late Diane Occhipinti. Born in Messina, Sicily, Eugenio was the son of the late Luigi and Teresa (Arena) Occhipinti. Eugenio served in the Italian Air Force as a Morse Code Specialist and later started his own business repairing appliances.

He emigrated to the United States in 1967 where he lived in Salem for fifteen years before moving to New Hampshire. He worked for many years doing quality control for New England Carbide. As a young man Eugenio loved fishing and skin diving and building models.

Eugenio was deeply loved by all his friends and family. He is survived by his son John Occhipinti, and his partner Maryanne Occhipinti of Somersworth, NH, a daughter Maria Carney of Salem, MA, nine grandchildren, Daniel Carney, Christina Wheeler and Husband Jeff Wheeler, Alyssa Carney, John Occhipinti, Nicholas Occhipinti, Emily Occhipinti, Gino Occhipinti, Anthony Occhipinti, and Mark Guy; 16 great-grandchildren, his sisters-in-law Liliana Occhipinti, and Mariann Ahearn and her husband William, and a brother-in-law Norman Gagnon, and several nieces and nephews and many family members who remained in Sicily. Along with his parents, Eugenio is predeceased by his first wife Rosalia Occhipinti, his second wife Diane (Gagnon) Occhipinti, his son Robert Occhipinti, and his brother Orazio Occhipinti.
