Euguene Vernon Thompson

Eugene V. Thompson, 92, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2025, in his sleep while residing at Dove Health and Rehabilitation in Superior, WI.

Gene was born the first son of Verner and Elenore (Silvola) of Oma, WI. He is one of six children: Delores (Dezur), Doris (Morello), Eugene, Charles, Vern (Nasi), and Joan Vobedja. He was preceded in death by his sister Delores and brother Charles.

He graduated from JE Murphy High School in Hurley, where he met his wife, Kathleen (Koski) . of 72 years. After returning from Korea, where he served in the Army, they had four children, Denise (Gilmore), Jeff, Charley, and Terri Lynn (Pither). He joins Denise and Terri Lynn in glorifying our God in heaven.

He has eight grandchildren: Mat and Steve Gilmore, Jamey, Rachel, Katelin, Taylor, Jacob, and Jeffrey. Jacob preceded him in death. He also has seventeen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Heaven is a much louder place with all the laughter from him and his family.

A service will be held at a future date. Burial will be at Riverside Cemetery, Ironwood, MI.
