Ken was born on a dairy farm in Dublin Ohio where he lived until 1984 when he and his wife relocated to Baltimore, Ohio. He was a 1956 graduate of Dublin High School and was also senior class president. He played football, basketball and baseball for Dublin, and he was very proud to be a member of the 1955 Dublin baseball team that was state runner up in Ohio. He farmed his entire life, and he also worked for PPG Industries in Delaware, Ohio for many years. He shared his farming knowledge as the agriculture advisor for the Shawnee Braves and Maidens 4-H club for many years. After moving to Baltimore, he owned and raced several harness horses in Ohio and Pennsylvania. He was a very active member of Thurston Methodist Church for more than 40 years where among other areas of service, he served as part of the Thurston Methodist bi-weekly meal ministry and assisted with the Thurston Methodist Lenten fish fries.

Ken enjoyed travel and took his family on many family vacations including two cross country camping trips to the west coast and back. Ken enjoyed sports of all sorts and hunting. He was a passionate fan of the Cincinnati Reds, Cincinnati Bengals and Ohio State Buckeyes. He enjoyed many trips to Goodyear, Arizona for Reds spring training. While he hunted deer and all types of game in Ohio his entire life, he also enjoyed hunting trips to Montana, as well, for deer and elk.

After courageously fighting several health battles for over 10 months, Ken passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 87. Ken loved his family, practical jokes, good food and he never knew a stranger. His happiest moments were with family, and he was extremely proud of them and their accomplishments. He passed from this world into the warm embrace of God while he was surrounded by family.
