Eunice Ann Goodwin, 89 years old, of
Riverside, California, passed away peacefully at home during hospice care on Monday, December 8, 2025.
While Eunice lived most of her life in
Riverside, California she was born in
Brooklyn, Wisconsin to Ed and Edna Jacobson on November 14, 1936. Eunice went to school in Madison Wisconsin, where she fell in love with high school sweetheart Donald Jean Goodwin. Don & Eunice married on October 8, 1955 in
Brooklyn, WI. They were married for over 62 years until Don passed away in January of 2018.
Eunice was a creative caring person that wasn't afraid of hard work. In 1992, she retired with over 34 years of civilian service. During the last 26 years of her career, Eunice worked at Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach Detachment facility in
Norco, CA. A couple career highlights are serving as Secretary to the Commanding Officer and receiving the Total Quality Management award in 1991 for revising the Travel Service Claims System.
In her spare time, Eunice was active in Beta Sigma Phi, an avid bowler, held office in her church, taught Sunday school, and was the Regional President for the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. Eunice was also a gifted crafter which led to her and Don to create their own business, "Grandma & Grandpa's Workshop."
As the youngest of her five siblings, Eunice was blessed with a very large family legacy. She and Donald raised four daughters, who blessed them with 11 grandchildren, 24
great-grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren. "Grandma's" house often had family dropping by to celebrate life events, eat food, play games, jump in the pool, work on a puzzle, which was always out, or just take a nap on the sofa.
Eunice is survived by her daughters: Diana Lynn Stevenson of Riverside; Melody Ann Nickens of Riverside; Tina Marie Hopkins-Dukes and her husband, Lance Hopkins-Dukes of Fort Collins, Colorado; and Jean Ann Goodwin-Grisham and her husband Douglas Grisham, of Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by her sister; Barbara Gambino, of Arizona; Leroy Jacobson, of Arizona; as well as many nieces, nephews, other extended family, and caring friends.
