Riemann Family Funeral Homes - GulfportEunice Joan Kellogg, age 88 formally of Saucier, MS, passed away Tuesday, July 29, 2025.
Joan spent all her adult life in South MS. She graduated from Rocky Creek High School in George County, MS, William Carey University located in Hattiesburg, MS, as well as earning a master's degree from the University of Southern Mississippi.
Joan was an educator and spent 33 years teaching at several different schools within the Harrison County School District. During that time, she was one of the few select teachers to implement the Gifted Student Enrichment Program across the district. She was an active member of the Robinwood Baptist Church in Saucier, MS. She was a devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, wife mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Joan was very creative and enjoyed gardening, reading, writing and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was a great hostess and loved to entertain the entire family most notable for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays. She also enjoyed traveling around the country to visit her extended family and was always committed to attending family reunions with her brothers and sisters who lived in cities from New Mexico to Maryland.
She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Thomas A. "Al" Kellogg; her children, Thomas R. Kellogg (Lynn), Danny M. Kellog (Frances) and Susan M. Wiest (Robbie); as well as five grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Joan was preceded in death by her parents Melissia and Walter Geiger, as well as eight siblings.
A celebration of Life memorial will be held at 4:00 pm on August 23, 2025, at Robinwood Baptist Church, located at 17076 West Wortham Road, Saucier, MS 39574.
