Eunice Penson Obituary
Eunice Inez Penson was a woman who enjoyed life, she gave “life” a run for its money! As a mother of seven, she was blessed to love her children and shower them with unconditional love. She didn’t hold back on being a proud grandmother/great-grandmother. Everyone she encountered knew that they were loved, because she made sure of it! Eunice Inez Penson had a heart as big as Texas and was said to be made of 24k gold. Being around her, she made sure that you knew you were amongst good people, be it through a smile, a home-cooked meal from scratch, or by passing out butt whooping’s with a game of dominoes. To know Eunice, was to know that listening to some down-home blues like Little Blue Bird, Mama’s Sweet Apple Pie, and Catch You on Your Way Down, brought a smile to her face.
Eunice Inez Penson accepted Christ as a young adult; she followed through with her commitment to Christ by being baptized in the creek, within her childhood home of Sayersville, Texas. She loved the Lord and made sure that those around her knew that “HE” the MAN upstairs was in charge! It is believed her first true love, Larry Matthews (former Marine & wonderful father/provider) welcomed her home into the Kingdom on his birthday, March 3, 2025. They were said to be inseparable as young adults and loved one another to infinity and beyond!
Eunice is preceded in death by her parents Johnnie B. Penson (mother), John L. Penson (father). Her siblings called home before her are Gennie Mae, Jack, Chester (Neal), Marlon (Ray), Johnny (Bubba), Melvin, Anna, Vera (Tuda), and Roy Dale.
Eunice’s legacy will continue for decades to come through her children Barron Penson (Kenyatta & 18 children), Christopher Penson (Terri & 3 children), Gerald Penson (and 5 children), Devilon Penson (Jarene & and 3 children), Vanissa Penson (and 4 children), Larry Penson (Tiffany & and 4 children), Shonda Penson-Joiner (and 7 children), along with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Her beloved siblings Cleo Wilson, Harold Penson (Sherry-Anne), Buehla Penson the legacy continues…
A celebration of her life will begin at 11:00AM on Saturday, March 22, 2025, at Providence-Jones Family Funeral Home, 604 HWY 95 N, Elgin, Texas 78621.
