Eunice Myrle Register, a cherished matriarch, and beloved member of the Jackson County community, passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025, in Tallahassee, Florida. Born on April 14, 1940, in Holmes County, Eunice's life was a testament to her resilience, love for her family, and dedication to her faith.
Eunice's journey began as the daughter of Cull Young Register and Eldoria Peterson Register. She grew up surrounded by the love of her parents and siblings, learning the values of hard work and compassion that would define her life. Although she faced the sorrow of losing her sister, Patsy Austin, and her daughter, Tracy Bass, Eunice's spirit remained unbroken, and she continued to be a source of strength for her family.
Eunice's legacy is carried on by her loving children, Tonya Sipple, Tony Bass (Maureen), Terry Bass, and Jason Porter. Her siblings, Margaret Braxton, Deltha Sconiers, Vicky Rodeo (Pat), Malrie Register, Larry Register, Staford Register, Ludd Register (Juanita), and Joseph Register (Karen), will fondly remember her as a sister who enriched their lives with joy and wisdom. Eunice was also the proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Gabrielle, Zachery, Cameron, Megan, Logan, Brick, Nicole, Joshua, Jacob, Nathan, and Savannah, and she was blessed to see the growth of her family with fourteen great-grandchildren.
In 1971, Eunice demonstrated her commitment to personal growth and her family's future by completing her high school education. This achievement led her to a rewarding career with the State of Florida at Sunland in Marianna, where she dedicated over twenty years of service. Eunice's colleagues at Sunland will remember her as a hardworking and compassionate individual, whose presence made a lasting impact on the lives of those she worked with.
Eunice's faith was a cornerstone of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Marianna. Her spiritual life was rich and fulfilling, and she found great comfort and joy in her faith community.
An avid gardener, Eunice had a remarkable ability to nurture and grow plants, often being referred to as someone with a definite "green thumb." She found solace and happiness in the outdoors, where she could name almost every plant and tree she encountered. Her love for reading was unparalleled; she was a speed reader who could immerse herself in a book and complete it in less than two hours, a skill that brought her much pleasure and knowledge.
Eunice's love for animals was evident in the small farm she once maintained, caring for dogs, cats, goats, and chickens with the same affection she showed her family. Above all, it was her family that brought her the most joy. Eunice cherished every moment spent with her loved ones and instilled in them the importance of togetherness and love.
Eunice Myrle Register's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with threads of devotion, kindness, and unwavering love. Her memory will be treasured by all who knew her, and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends. Eunice's life was a gift to us all, and her story will be told with love and admiration for generations to come.
Memorialization will be by cremation and in honoring Eunice's request no public services will be planned. The family will hold a private service at a later date.

Tonya Kay and I were pretty much inseparable when we were kids all the way to our old age and Eva was like a mom to me and she didn´t mind getting me with her broom along side my bff. She is always part of my family and she was a funny woman and she knew everything about plants and antiques. She was honest and she spoke her mind but she was always a lady. And I was very lucky to have been able to grow up with her so close to me and I am going to miss her. She knew she had some nice shoes and she always wanted to be sure that we were not going to take a pair when we went to see her at her Diana lane duplex. So many plants at her front porch that it was hard to get to the front door. She could grow anything she wanted. I love you guys and I´m praying for you all to get through this time.

Sending my deepest condolences to Tonya, Cameron and all the family. Praying Gods comfort and strength to each and everyone during this sad time in your lives. What a beautiful obituary honoring a beautiful life well lived. I was fortunate enough to meet Eunice many years ago and from the first time I met her,i knew she was a very special lady with so much love and compassion in her. Know that she will be missed.

I remember as a small child I would call her stomach my "secret pillow" and lay on her every night. She would scratch my arms or my back to comfort me to sleep as long as it took. We would have deep and meaningful conversation. She was the most generous person I have ever had the pleasure of growing with. She had the most peculiar sayings that I seem to have adopted. "Shuffle up the Buffalo. The turn isn't gonna come to you. You better whoa. Whoa mod." She taught me how to fish, how to garden, and really started my track on enjoying cooking. She was a gem and I will remember her for the rest of my life.
