Eva Lavaun Hatfield, age 103, of Knox City, MO, passed away Saturday, April 26, 2025, in the Blessing Hospital in Quincy, IL. She was born in rural Edina, MO on February 11, 1922, the daughter of William Henry and Pearl Bell Weaver Barnes. She was united in marriage to Hollie Eugene Hatfield on March 28, 1942, in Edina, MO and he preceded her in death on May 25, 1980. Eva was also preceded by one son Dale Edwin Hatfield, two daughters Betty Lavon Michel and Donna Lee Cardwell, four sisters Irene Spray, Mable Cullers, Velma Dabney and Marie Elizabeth Hatfield, three brothers, Billie Barnes, Raymond Barnes, William Barnes in infancy and a son-in-law David Michel.

Surviving are three sons Donald Hatfield of Hurdland, MO, David Hatfield of Edina, MO, and Virgil Hatfield of Ewing, MO, one daughter-in-law Susie Hatfield of Quincy, IL, 17 grandchildren, Leslie (Kim) Cardwell, Mark (Rhonda) Cardwell, Lesa (Richard) Noe, Tony Cardwell, Cheyenne Wolf, Billy Don Hatfield, Kim (Mike) Lenz, Bruce Hatfield, Randall (Justyan) Hatfield, Tina Walker, David Hatfield, Allen (Kim) Hatfield, Lori (Kelly) Hall, Andy Michel, Amy (Brett) Peters, Jennifer (Jason) Appledorn and Scott (Dawn) Hatfield, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Eva received her education at Cook Corner. She was employed in Quincy, IL at Davis-Cleaver for nine years, at Motorola for nine years, worked at the Knox County Nutrition Site where and had won Volunteer of the Year Award. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading her bible and cooking.

She was a faithful member of the Knox City Assembly of God Church.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2025, in the Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO. Visitation will begin Wednesday at 12 noon and services will begin at 2 p.m. at Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Edina, MO.

Pastor Mike Myers will officiate the services. Burial will be in the Knox City Cemetery.

Music will be Paul & Marsha Burton, Sheltered In The Arms Of God, Go Rest High On That Mountain and In the Garden.

Casket bearers will be grandsons, Les Cardwell, Mark Cardwell, Tony Cardwell, Bruce Hatfield, Allen Hatfield and Andy Michel. Honorary bearers will be David Paul Hatfield, Randall Hatfield, Billy Don Hatfield and Scott Hatfield.

Memorials are suggested to Knox City Assembly Of God Church. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, P.O. Box 1, Edina, MO, 63537.
