Mrs. Brigman was born November 9, 1931 in Chesterfield, SC a daughter of the late Harley and Minnie Huggins Johnson. Mrs. Eva was a lady who loved her friends, family, and the Lord. She was a faithful member of Immanuel Baptist Church and you could always count on her being in attendance anytime the doors were open. Mrs. Brigman’s faith went beyond being a church member as she devoted much of her time to praying and reading the scriptures. Eva was a blessing to anyone fortunate enough to call her “friend”. Eva would often visit shut-ins and she would bring them her homemade baked goods such as cakes or her famous biscuits. Mrs. Brigman had a great sense of humor and you knew if she picked with you, she liked you. Eva also enjoyed board games, crosswords, and jigsaw puzzles. One of her favorite activities was reading on the beach when her family went on vacations. Of all the things that Eva will be remembered for her greatest legacy is that she was an excellent mother, grandmother, and sister. Mrs. Brigman was the epitome of a virtuous woman in the way that she loved, sacrificed for, and cared for her family.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Brigman was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Allen H. Brigman, Sr.; siblings, Charles Johnson, Aletha Moore, and George Johnson.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-“love”, Pastor Al and Melissa Brigman of the home; grandchildren, Morgan (Pastor Reid) McAteer of Lancaster, SC, Zachary Brigman of Lancaster, SC, Dakota (Mackenzie) Brigman of Lancaster, SC; great-grandchildren, Rhett McAteer, Hayden McAteer, Evelyn June Brigman, and one on the way; siblings, Olin Johnson of Hartsville, SC, Sadie (Al) Rudelic of Myrtle Beach, SC, Linda (Sandy) Taylor of Ruby, SC, Janice (Pastor Gerald) Rivers of Chesterfield, SC; sister-in-law, Carol Johnson of Chesterfield, SC; numerous nieces and nephews; and her Immanuel Baptist Church family.
